Kenkare Hired as Student Intern of Leadership Society

 

Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society, is excited to announce that Saamiha Kenkare, PharmD Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, has been hired as the Society’s new Student Intern. Saamiha previously served as the treasurer of the Psi Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma and as the president of the UT Student College of Clinical Pharmacy. She has also been involved in the Texas Pharmacy Association and the UT Student National Pharmaceutical Association.

Executive Director, Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP commented, “I am so glad Saamiha has agreed to join our team. Her primary role will be overseeing the ordering process that our chapters utilize during the induction process. I am so excited to have a partner to collaborate with as we serve this important role for our chapters.” Saamiha will begin immediately and will be in the position until her graduation in the Summer of 2023.

Phi Lambda Sigma was established in 1965 to develop leadership qualities among pharmacy students and pharmacists and to recognize leaders in the profession. The Society’s current mission is to recognize leaders in the profession, cultivate leadership development, and inspire transformational change. The elected offices within the National Executive Committee also includes President: Anthony DeClue, PharmD (Medical University of South Carolina); Immediate Past-President: Michael Mueller, PhD (LECOM – Bradenton Campus); President-Elect: Caroline Sasser, PharmD, BCPS (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill); Speaker of the House: Amanda Everett, PharmD Candidate (Medical University of South Carolina); Members-at-Large: Emi Radetich, PharmD Candidate (University of Utah) and Hillary Reeves, PharmD Candidate (Medical University of South Carolina). Appointed officers and staff members include Executive Director: Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP (Abilyn Consulting, LLC, Winchester, VA); Associate Executive Director: Mary Euler, PharmD, FAPhA (West Virginia University); Student Interns: Delaney McGuirt, PharmD Candidate (University of Maryland, Baltimore); Elena Dang, PharmD Candidate (University of Texas at Austin); and Treasurer: Jaclyn Cole, PharmD, BCPS (University of South Florida).
