PLS Board Committee Interest Form 2026-2027

Description of Duties

Phi Lambda Sigma is looking for highly interested candidates to serve on our committees in tangible ways that will advance the work of the committees, the Society, and our profession. The Society has a wonderful think tank of persons with great ideas for our organization and our profession. In addition to the continued development of innovative ideas, we are looking for persons of action to help turn these ideas into reality.

Below you will find committee descriptions and scheduled meeting times. Please see the application below to express your interest in serving as a committee member.

Committee Descriptions

Awards Committee: The Awards Committee is primarily responsible for evaluating award nominations and providing recommendations for award recipients to the Board of Directors. Additionally, this committee is responsible for tracking and reporting awards trends, evaluating criteria and workflow for determination of awards, and implementing improvements to the awards submission and selection process. (Monthly Meeting Time: TBD)

Bylaws Committee: The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to assess proposed amendments to the Society Bylaws and ensure conformity to national standards through regular chapter bylaw review. This year’s committee focus will be on developing a universal Chapter Bylaws template and Society Standard Operating Procedures. (Monthly Meeting Time: TBD)

Chapter Development Committee: This committee is dedicated to strengthening the collegiate chapters of Phi Lambda Sigma. The committee seeks to support chapters and chapter advisors in creating a consistent, unifying experience for all members. Additionally, this committee provides individualized development support for chapters upon request. (Monthly Meeting Time: TBD)

Member Engagement Committee: The member engagement committee serves to create and provide opportunities to engage both students and alumni members with the Society. Additionally, the member engagement committee will focus on developing targeted mentorship development and an improved member transition process upon graduation, with the goal of engaging recent graduates as they transition to new practitioners. This committee is also responsible for maximizing our GiANT leader development investments. (Monthly Meeting Time: TBD)

Programming Committee: The Programming Committee supports the organization’s direct-to-member events and leadership development opportunities produced by PLS national committees. This committee will ensure that all PLS-branded events and opportunities are in-line with our mission, vision, DEI mission statement, and support our strategic plan. This committee is directly responsible for the development and execution of annual programming, like the Leadership Summit, including theme, speaker recruitment and preparation, and delivery platform. Society Expansion Committee: The Society Expansion Committee serves the purpose of growing and strengthening the reach of Phi Lambda Sigma beyond its traditional boundaries. This committee will engage in membership outreach and recruitment, community partnership development, and the advancement of pharmacy leadership across a broader range of audiences and sectors. Additionally, the committee will cultivate an expansive mindset for all PLS members, one that embraces the full diversity of leadership opportunities within and beyond the pharmacy profession. Note: This committee is replacing the International Affairs Committee in order to broaden the scope of membership considerations beyond solely international opportunities. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are highly encouraged to be submitted prior to June 30, 2026 @ 11:59 PM PT.

PLS Regional Liaison Application 2026-2027

Description of Duties

Phi Lambda Sigma is seeking highly motivated candidates who are passionate about strengthening connections across our organization to serve as Regional Liaisons. RLs play a vital role in advancing the mission of the Society by serving as a direct link between the Board of Directors and local chapters. As a Regional Liaison, you will help streamline important communication, ensure chapters are aligned with organizational bylaws, and support their continued growth and activity.
