Board Committee Chair and Vice Chair Applications:

Applications for Committee Chair and Vice Chair are open for the following committees:

Treasurer Application

Phi Lambda Sigma is looking for highly interested candidates to lead our Society in tangible ways that will advance the work of the committees, the organization, and our profession. 

The Society has a wonderful think tank of persons with great ideas for our Society and our profession. In addition to the continued development of innovative ideas, we are looking for persons of action to help turn these ideas into reality. 

In an effort to allow our members more opportunities to serve on the international level, we are opening a formal application process for the appointed role of Treasurer.

The Treasurer position is a 2-year term. Responsibilities include:
 
  • Serve as the Chairperson of the Finance Committee, leading monthly meetings
  • Attend and report on finances monthly at BoD meetings
  • Remain in close email communication with PLS staff and the rest of the BoD (i.e., emails checked daily)
 
Desired qualifications:
  • Committee leadership and/or nonprofit Board of Directors experience (within PLS preferred)
  • Experience working in nonprofit financial management and/or operations
  • Experience with budgeting, investments, accounting practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
 
In addition, it is important to note that the Treasurer is not eligible to receive Awards that are funded and chosen by PLS Awards Committee, due to an unavoidable conflict of interest.
Your answers will be assessed using a standardized rubric, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of PLS and the requirements for the position. Responses should be concise, recommended ~250 words or less.

  • Please describe your past experience leading committee(s) within or outside of Phi Lambda Sigma. If outside of PLS, please include brief description of committee structure, charges and/or accomplishments, and dates of service.
