Our committee leaders generously volunteer their time and talents to advance Phi Lambda Sigma’s mission of developing pharmacy leaders. Through their dedication, expertise, and service, they strengthen our chapters, support our members, and help shape the future of pharmacy leadership nationwide.
The Awards Committee is primarily responsible for evaluating award nominations and providing recommendations for award recipients to the Board of Directors. Additionally, this committee is responsible for tracking and reporting award trends, evaluating criteria and workflow for the determination of awards, and implementing improvements to the awards submission and selection process. The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to assess proposed amendments to the Society Bylaws, ensure chapter bylaw conformity to the Society standards, and serve as a resource to chapters requesting chapter bylaw review. (Monthly Meeting Time: Second Thursday at 8:00 pm ET)
This committee is dedicated to strengthening the collegiate chapters of Phi Lambda Sigma. The committee seeks to support chapters by sharing best practices and recommendations to create a consistent, unifying, quality experience for all members. (Monthly Meeting Time: First Tuesday at 7:00 pm ET)
The International Affairs Committee (IAC) serves the purpose of building relationships with pharmacy schools outside of the United States, with the intent to establish international Phi Lambda Sigma Chapters. Members of the IAC will have the opportunity to engage in international partnership development, cross-cultural relationship building, and the advancement of pharmacy leadership at international conferences. (Monthly Meeting Time: First Thursday at 6:00 pm ET)
The member engagement committee serves to create and provide opportunities, workshops, training, and resources to engage both students and professional PLS members with the Society. Additionally, the member engagement committee will focus on developing an improved member-transition process upon graduation to engage recent graduates as they transition to professional status. (Monthly Meeting Time: First Tuesday at 7:00 pm ET)
The Programming Committee supports the organization’s direct-to-member events and leadership development opportunities produced by PLS committees, including, but not limited to, the Member Engagement Committee and the Chapter Development Committee. This committee will ensure that all PLS-branded events and opportunities are in-line with our mission and support our strategic plan. This committee is directly responsible for the development and execution of the annual Leadership Summit, including theme, speaker recruitment and preparation, and delivery platform. (Monthly Meeting Time: Second Tuesday at 8 pm ET )
The Communications Committee (Comm Comm) assists internal and external communication efforts of the Society. The committee members are made up of liaisons from each of the other Board committees; however, the Chair and Vice Chair may choose to serve only on the Communications Committee. The Communications Chair and Vice Chair will work closely with the Society’s Executive Director and Marketing Intern to share committee updates on the Society’s various digital platforms like our bimonthly newsletter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The Past President Task Force, which is comprised of previous President leaders of the Society, serves in an advisory capacity for the current Presidents, collaborates with the initiatives of the Charitable Giving Task Force, and proposes recommendations with aims to grow and sustain the Society in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, finance, staff, and partnerships.
