Dang Hired as Student Intern of Leadership Society
Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society, is excited to announce that Elena Dang, PharmD Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy has been hired as the Society’s new Student Intern. Dang is the immediate past Chapter President of the Psi Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma and also works as a content writer for The Curist Relief Blog. She was involved with the American Pharmacists Association- Academy of Student Pharmacists as Chair of Special Events, then Chair of OTC Medicine Safety, UT Pharmacy Ambassadors as Professional Development Chair, New Student Orientation as Social Media Chair, and Interprofessional Education Committee as P2 Student Representative. Elena’s previous experience in intentional student leadership programming, detailed- oriented event planning, and engaging student activities will be a welcomed addition to the National Executive Committee.
Executive Director, Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP commented, “We are so excited to welcome Elena to our team! She brings so much experience to us with her previous leadership positions within her school and within PLS at the chapter level. Her interest and expertise in the social media space will be so helpful for us on the national level!” Elena will begin immediately and will be in the position until her graduation in the Summer of 2023.
Phi Lambda Sigma was established in 1965 to develop leadership qualities among pharmacy students and pharmacists and to recognize leaders in the profession. The Society’s current mission is to recognize leaders in the profession, cultivate leadership development, and inspire transformational change. The elected offices within the National Executive Committee also includes President: Anthony DeClue, PharmD (Medical University of South Carolina); Immediate Past-President: Michael Mueller, PhD (LECOM – Bradenton Campus); President-Elect: Caroline Sasser, PharmD, BCPS (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill); Speaker of the House: Amanda Everett, PharmD Candidate (Medical University of South Carolina); Members-at-Large: Emi Radetich, PharmD Candidate (University of Utah) and Hillary Reeves, PharmD Candidate (Medical University of South Carolina). Appointed officers and staff members include Executive Director: Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP (Abilyn Consulting, LLC, Winchester, VA); Associate Executive Director: Mary Euler, PharmD, FAPhA (West Virginia University); Student Interns: Delaney McGuirt, PharmD Candidate (University of Maryland, Baltimore); and Treasurer: Jaclyn Cole, PharmD, BCPS (University of South Florida).
