Pharmacy Leadership Society Hosts Virtual Awards Ceremony

Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society, held its annual Awards Ceremony virtually for the second year in a row on Saturday, June 26, 2021.  The event was presided over by incoming President, Michael Mueller, PhD from the LECOM School of Pharmacy, Bradenton Campus in Bradenton, Florida.

The following deserving award recipients were honored during the ceremony:

Albert B. Prescott Award: Jennifer Bacci, PharmD, MPH, BCACP (University of Washington School of Pharmacy)

Chapter of the Year Award: University of Minnesota (Alpha Phi Chapter)

Charles C. Thomas Scholarship: Leah Alexandra (Alex) Wallace (University of Tennessee – Theta Chapter)

Charlie Thomas Leadership Challenge: Medical University of South Carolina (Beta Chi Chapter)

National Alumnus of the Year: Cherokee Layson-Wolf, PharmD, BCACP, FAPhA (University of Maryland – Beta Lambda Chapter)

Outstanding Chapter Advisor: Randall Schexnayder, RPh, MSHP (Xavier University – Alpha Delta Chapter)

Proctor and Gamble Leadership Award: Cathy Worrall, PharmD (Medical University of South Carolina – Beta Chi Chapter)

Phi Lambda Sigma was established in 1965 to develop leadership qualities among pharmacy students and pharmacists and to recognize leaders in the profession.  The elected offices within the National Executive Committee also includes President: Michael Mueller, PhD (LECOM – Bradenton Campus); Immediate Past-President: Jordan Ballou, PharmD, BCACP (University of Mississippi); President-Elect: Anthony DeClue, PharmD (Medical University of South Carolina) Speaker of the House: Lamees Loubani, PharmD Candidate (University of Houston); Members-at-Large: Erin Ballentine, PharmD Candidate (Cedarville University) and Yihan Li, PharmD Candidate (University of Pittsburgh).  Appointed officers and staff members include Executive Director: Brandon Jennings, PharmD, BCACP (Abilyn Consulting, LLC, Winchester, VA); Associate Executive Director: Mary Euler, PharmD, FAPhA (West Virginia University); Student Intern: Leigh Joyner, PharmD Candidate (University of South Carolina); and Treasurer: Jaclyn Cole, PharmD, BCPS (University of South Florida).
