Purpose of the Award
To recognize an outstanding PLS chapter alumni member based on their contributions to pharmacy leadership within their chapter.
Number of Awards & Recognition
One (1) alumni member is chosen annually per chapter. The individual chosen by the chapter for this award will be listed in the annual awards booklet at the PLS Awards Ceremony. In addition, the chapter will receive a certificate to present to the awardee.
Eligibility
This individual is chosen by their respective chapter based on contributions to pharmacy leadership.
Application & Submission Procedures
Although no formal nomination materials are required to be submitted to the central office, please submit the a certificate order on the PLS Shop so that your awardee recipient is eligible to receive an official certificate. Your chapter may present the certificate at any time throughout the year; however, if the form is received by the annual deadline, the name of your recipient will be listed in the program of Phi Lambda Sigma events at the Annual House of Delegates Meeting.
Scoring & Evaluation
Selection of the Chapter Alumni of the Year Award recipient is determined internally by each respective chapter. Phi Lambda Sigma does not require a standardized scoring rubric or formal evaluation process for this award.
Chapters are encouraged to develop a fair and transparent selection process that aligns with the purpose of the award and reflects the values of leadership, service, professionalism, and contribution to the chapter and pharmacy profession. Examples of evaluation considerations may include:
Chapters may choose to use nominations, applications, committee review, voting procedures, or other methods as part of their local selection process.
Deadline
The deadline for submission is the last day of February annually at 11:59 pm PT.
