HISTORY AND PURPOSE OF AWARD

Albert B. Prescott was a leading advocate for an academic basis for pharmaceutical education in the late 1800s. Prescott is the Founder and Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan where he helped establish the Phi Delta Chi chapter in 1883.

The Prescott Pharmacy Leadership Award was conceived by Phi Delta Chi (PDC) in 1987 to recognize excellence and leadership potential among early career leaders in pharmacy.

NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

In collaboration with the Pharmacy Leadership & Education Institute (PLEI), this award is given annually to recognize an emerging leader no more than 10 years into their career. The recipient is selected by the four most recent recipients of the Award, two members of the PLEI Board of Directors, one representative of PLS, and one representative of PDC.
