Purpose
The Charles C. Thomas Scholarship by Phi Lambda Sigma was established through and endowment made by Phi Lambda Sigma to the American Pharmacists Association Foundation to honor Charles C. Thomas, RPh, FAPhA, founder of Phi Lambda Sigma. Mr. Thomas is a 1965 graduate of the Auburn University School of Pharmacy. While a student at Auburn University, he founded Phi Lambda Sigma, the pharmacy leadership society to accomplish his vision in supporting leader development and recognizing leadership talent in student pharmacists and practitioners.
The scholarship recognizes student pharmacists who demonstrate exceptional leadership, academic achievement, service, and commitment to advancing the pharmacy profession, particularly through involvement in Phi Lambda Sigma and/or APhA-ASP.
Number of Awards & Recognition
One (1) recipient is selected annually to receive the Charles C. Thomas Scholarship. The recipient receives a $1,000 scholarship through the APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program and will be recognized through Phi Lambda Sigma and APhA Foundation communications and programming. The recipient will also be recognized at the annual Phi Lambda Sigma Awards Ceremony and receive a commemorative award certificate from Phi Lambda Sigma.
