Chapter Development Award

Fall Chapter Development Award

Interprofessional Leadership Engagement and Development (i-LEAD) Award

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

The Interprofessional Leadership Engagement and Development (i-LEAD) Award aims to support the outstanding efforts of a Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) chapter that aims to foster interprofessional collaboration and leadership. In today’s dynamic healthcare landscape, the ability to work effectively across disciplines is critical to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This award aims to inspire pharmacy leaders to engage with other healthcare specialties and embrace the principles of teamwork, innovation, and advocacy.

Phi Lambda Sigma has long been committed to cultivating leadership within the pharmacy profession. The i-LEAD Award builds upon this mission by highlighting the critical role of interprofessional collaboration in leadership development and improving health outcomes. By promoting initiatives that bring together pharmacy students and other healthcare disciplines, the award underscores the importance of collective learning, shared expertise, and a unified approach to community health and wellness.

The purpose of the i-LEAD Award is to honor a PLS chapter that exemplifies excellence in:

  • Group Learning: Creating opportunities for meaningful interprofessional education and training to enhance understanding and collaboration between pharmacy and other healthcare disciplines to promote leadership development.
  • Community Outreach: Demonstrating a commitment to addressing community health challenges through joint efforts with other healthcare professionals.
  • Advocacy: Promoting policies and practices that advance interprofessional collaboration and elevate patient care.

Through this recognition, the i-LEAD Award seeks to inspire all PLS chapters to pursue innovative approaches to interprofessional engagement, reinforcing the integral role of pharmacy leaders in shaping the future of collaborative healthcare.
