By embracing a mindset that values curiosity, effective communication, and an openness to risk, this presentation outlines actionable strategies for leaders and professionals to cultivate spaces where diverse abilities and perspectives are valued and integrated.

Speaker: Saley Traore- Uwalaka, PharmD, BCPS

Student pharmacists are unfairly pressured into an idea that they must be perfect to succeed. This false narrative is both dangerous and inaccurate. This session will share that success means different things to different people. Session participants will be encouraged to build their own identity and set clear goals based on their values. This way failure does not come in and disrupt their lives.

Leadership Summit will continue at 2:00PM EST

Speaker: Derek Borkowski, PharmD

In this presentation the speaker shares his leadership journey and lessons learned in developing the Pyrls.com drug reference website and mobile app, having started building it while still in pharmacy school and commercializing it as a new practitioner in community pharmacy practice. Fundamentally, the speaker views his journey as one where he, as a pharmacy student/new practitioner, identified his own problem in practice of needing better concise, practice-ready drug information and built a solution to address it. This is a process any pharmacist or pharmacy student can and should be empowered to do to solve their own problems in practice and invent the future of healthcare.
