Number of Awards\/Stipend<\/b><\/p>

One (1) Phi Lambda Sigma \u2013 AFPE First Year Graduate Scholarship worth $10,000. The $10,000 may be used for any purpose decided by the awardee and faculty sponsor that will enable the student to have a successful program \u2014 e.g., student stipend, laboratory supplies, books, materials, travel, etc. related to the program of graduate study. None of the funds shall be used for indirect costs by the institution.<\/p>

Eligibility<\/b><\/p>

An applicant must be in their final year of an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program and a member of Phi Lambda Sigma. The applicant should have plans to enroll in a Ph.D. program upon graduation or be currently enrolled in a dual Pharm.D.\/Ph.D. program. U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.<\/p>

Application Deadline & Selection Procedure<\/b><\/p>

Applications for the scholarship are due by May 15th at 11:59 PST annually. The Phi Lambda Sigma awardee will be chosen by a 3-member Selection Committee composed of the Executive Director and President of the Society and either the President or Chairman of the Board of Grants of AFPE. It is expected that the recipient attend the Phi Lambda Sigma Award Reception. Funding for successful applicants will be provided in two equal stipends on September 1st and February 1st and upon receipt of confirmation that the student is enrolled in a pharmacy college graduate program for the Ph.D. Enrollment in a pharmacy college graduate program for the Ph.D. must occur not later than 16 months after receipt of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree.<\/p>
